GEO courses and certifications
From Search Visibility Wiki · By the Search Visibility Wiki editorial team · Published · Last reviewed · How we research
There is no industry-standard or accredited GEO certification; courses are offered by individual vendors and educators. The most reliable free learning materials are primary sources: the GEO research paper, Google’s AI features documentation, and the crawler documentation of OpenAI, Perplexity and Anthropic. Judge a course by whether it cites these.
Which free primary sources teach GEO?
- The GEO paper (Aggarwal et al.).[1]
- Google: AI features and your website.[2]
- Google’s AI optimization guide.[3]
- OpenAI, Perplexity and Anthropic crawler docs.[4][5][6]
- Replication research such as C-SEO Bench.[7]
How do you evaluate a GEO course?
- Does it cite primary sources?
- Does it separate tested findings from opinion?
- Does it promise rankings? (Nobody can guarantee AI placement.)
- Is it updated for current engines?
